What this policy covers
This policy explains how The Ride Portal website and the Zanovy Driver mobile application collect, use, and share information. Zanovy Driver is intended for authorized drivers working with transportation companies that use The Ride Portal.
Information we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, organization, role, and authentication information.
- Trip information: assigned passenger, route, schedule, vehicle or mobility details, leg status, and operational notes supplied by the requesting facility or transportation company.
- Precise location: when an assigned driver marks a leg In Route, Zanovy Driver collects the device's precise location, including while the app is in the background. The app keeps only the latest reported point for an active leg; it does not create a breadcrumb history of every location update.
- Technical information: session, device name, security, and service diagnostic information needed to operate and protect the service.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate users, deliver trip assignments, show live route and estimated-arrival information, synchronize pickup and drop-off status, support users, prevent misuse, and maintain the security and reliability of the service.
When live location is collected
Live location begins only after the assigned driver selects In Route for a trip leg and grants location permission. It continues through pickup for that active leg and stops when the driver marks the passenger dropped off, signs out, or the assignment ends. Drivers can also control location permission in their device settings.
How information is shared
Trip status and live location are available only to authorized users associated with the assigned transportation company and the facility that requested the trip. We may use infrastructure providers to host and secure the service. We do not sell personal information, use driver location for advertising, or share it with data brokers.
Retention and security
We retain account and trip records only as needed to provide the service, meet operational and legal requirements, resolve disputes, and protect the platform. Live tracking is stored as a single latest point for the trip leg rather than a route history. We use access controls, encrypted connections, and role-based authorization, but no service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and requests
You can decline or revoke location permission, but live trip tracking will not work. To request access, correction, or deletion of information, contact your transportation company administrator or email privacy@therideportal.com.
Children
Zanovy Driver is a workforce application and is not intended for use by children.
Changes
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will post the revised policy here with a new effective date.
